The weekly study will be led by Pastor John Burns and Pastor Mark McIntyre.

Visit the Study Groups web page for a week-by-week listing of the topics and chapters.

The Cross at Easter

Worshippers at University Baptist Church had two unique opportunities to incorporate the cross into their Easter observances this year.

At our Maundy Thursday service a bare cross was at the front of the sanctuary.  During the service we had an opportunity to write down a sin for which we would like to be forgiven, or a problem with which we wanted God's help.  We were then invited to bring the sin to the cross of Jesus and nail it to the cross, symbolizing the way Jesus was nailed to the cross to die for our sins.

On Easter this same cross was present, and worshippers brought fresh flowers with them and came forward and decorated the cross.  The photo to the right, taken by Craig Sonnemann, was the beautiful result!  A lot of photos were taken!  The Flowered Cross was taken outside after the service as a testimony to people who drove by later in the day.
